Side Effects and The Horse and the Stag lead the TWNYS with 10 nominations
Two Jonathans are competing with 10 nominations each, for the first ever TWNY AWARDS on Saturday March 2nd.
Jonathan Cuartas is the writer, producer and director of The Horse and The Stag, a dark drama about harassment and revenge. Apart from its Best Picture nomination, the film has nods for its two leading actors Ian Lerch and Amy Hoerler, as well as Best Director, Best Cinematography, Screenplay, Editing, Original Score, Sound Editing, and Make Up.
Meanwhile Jonathan Vargas got 10 nominations as well for his multu-genre comedy Side Effects, securing nods for his leading actor David de la Fe, two supporring actresses Jessenia Cossio and Annie Jones, supporting actor for Chase Gutzmore, and nominations for Directing, Editing, Sound Editing, Make Up and Best Picture.
The TWNYS is an award sponsored by DWNTWNR, A weekly web talk show broadcasted through Facebook, created to celebrate and recognize the work of filmmakers in South Florida. In its first edition, the TWNYS award only short films and the efforts of their cast and crew, which usually work for very little but put 100% of their talent to create extraordinary stories.
The event, which will be held at the Bonjour America TV Studios in Calle 8, will be broadcasted Live on the DWNTWNR facebook page on Saturday March 2nd starting at 7:30 with a red carpet pre show and the attendance of the nominees.
